Earlier this year, Locast added coverage to the Tampa Bay area. Now the free live TV streaming service is available in both Miami and West Palm Beach.

Locast enables users to stream their local ABC, FOX, NBC, The CW and PBS stations for free. The way how Locast is able to do this is because it is considered a nonprofit.

Streamers in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties will stations in the Miami TV market. Those in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Indian River counties will get local stations in West Palm Beach TV market. West Palm Beach viewers will get 28 channels, according to the Sun-Sentinel and Locast.

Locast is a free streaming service but it will include an ad of the service every 15 minutes. To avoid that, users have the option to donate $5 a month to Locast to not get the ads at all.

This would be perfect for those watching sporting events on the local stations, especially since the MLB will be returning soon, as well as NASCAR races too.

Locast is available as a free app on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac. You can read our review of Locast and how to get Picture-in-Picture working on it too.
