iOS 14’s widgets are arguably the top new feature of the operating system.

For some apps, they allow for users to get a quick view of their day, where they are at in meeting their fitness goals, what song is playing from their music streaming service and what the weather is currently like.

I have had iOS 14 on my iPhone 8 Plus for the last few days and already have my favorite widget of them all picked out. This widget is CARROT Weather.

I pay for Tier 3 of CARROT, so that means I get access to a wide variety of features that includes being able to use multiple data sources, having a radar from its Apple Watch app and getting precipitation notifications.

Definitely worth the $25 a year for me.

With all of that said, the widget I have shows the temperature in my current location (more like the Feels Like temperature), the high and the low for the day.

I have also added other widgets to a Smart Stack on my homescreen that shows what the weather is going to be like over the next few hours and what the weather will be like over the next five days.

Weather is a big deal to me because of how it impacts my everyday life, whether that is me going outside or seeing it from my apartment. Plus, I like the notifications from CARROT about watches and warnings.

If you’re curious about other widgets I have added, I have added the Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Day One Journal widgets, but they are not on my homescreen.

The only two widgets I am waiting for are the Deliveries app and Fantastical for iOS.

Flexibits, the developers of Fantastical, have said widget support for their app is coming soon.
