Apple unveils a new 9.7 inch iPad, with Apple Pencil support

Apple has just announced a new 9.7 inch iPad which features Apple Pencil support. In addition, Apple has updated all of its iWork sweet of apps to support the Apple Pencil. Apple also introduced a beta feature of smart annotation coming to Pages for iPad. Useful for teachers so they don’t have to print out documents. It’s not a layer ink on top of document. If you edit the doc, the markup moves with the content.

iBooks Author is coming to the iPad. It’s built right into Pages app — “This is a game-changing version of iWork” — the iPad also comes with an A10 Fusion Chip so Apple claims that “It’s more powerful than any Chromebook”.

Update: In the United Kingdom the starting price for consumers is £319 and in the United States the price for consumers starts at $329.
