Apple Clips app is a popular app for those wanting to create little silly, short videos. Which you can share on Social Media with your friends – well that was what Apple was going for when promoting and creating the Clips app. The Clips app launched on iOS on April 6th, 2017 and is only available for devices that are 64-bit and running iOS 10.3 or later. The app is optimized for both iPhone and iPad meaning that more people can use the app.
Clips hasn’t been an abandoned app and continues to receive regular updates throughout the year. Last year Clips gained new animated Disney graphics featuring Mickey, Minnie and more characters. Alongside that, new Pixar graphics featuring characters from Toy Story and Inside Out were added to the app. Apple also added dozens of customizable text banners, overlays and posters.
In version 2.0 of Clips, Apple redesigned the interface making it easier after previous complaints. Along with improving navigation, adding a full-screen browser, Star Wars characters and 16 vibrant and retro Apple-designed stickers. Also, added in that update were Selfie Scenes which debuted on iPhone’s in the Press Area of the Steve Jobs Theatre at Apple Park. The Selfie Scenes use the iPhone X’s face tracking technology. Support for iCloud was also included in V2.0.
What’s new in Clips Version 2.0.4:
Anyway back to today’s release, Apple has added animated football/soccer stickers and customisable text, here are Apple’s release notes:
“Football [or Soccer] graphics including an animated sticker, plus a label and poster with customizable text”.
The new update is certainly not ground-breaking, however, it’s better than nothing, let me know what you think of Clips in the comments below or on my Twitter @Kainmonty
