New benchmarks suggest that Apple could potentially use tomorrow’s WWDC 2018 event to announce and release a new MacBook Pro. This MacBook Pro would be awesome as it would sport Intel’s powerful six-core i7 – 8750H processor. We know this MacBook Pro will be powerful from the new leaked benchmarks.
Geekbench Benchmarks Leaked
A ‘MacBookPro14,3” has appeared in Geekbench listings for devices that use the i7 – 8750H processor. This processor is part of the Coffee Lake family. The chip has a base clock speed of 2.21 Ghz. This might sound disappointing as it is slower than the current MacBook Pros. However, the clock speed can be boosted up to 4.1 Ghz. This chip also has six cores which is quite a crucial advantage and upgrade. Even a 2017 version MacBook Pro has a maximum of four cores even with maxed out specifications.
This supposed MacBook has a single-core score of 4,902 and a multi-core score of 22,316. This puts this MacBook well ahead of any MacBook previously released by Apple. Infact MacBook with the second highest multi-core scores comes at 16,999.
At the WWDC 2018 event, a MacBook Pro refresh is much anticipated. The last MacBook Pro refresh was last year at the WWDC 2017 event.
Important to note, the “14,3” device also specifies 32gb of DDR4 RAM. This is double the peak on the 2017 edition MacBook Pros. This is good news but surprising news as it was speculated that Apple would stick to the 16gb DDR4 RAM cap until 2019. But this is good news and Apple won’t hear us complaining about RAM anymore.
