Update: Issue Resolved — Apple Maps, continues to remain offline – hours later – affecting all users getting directions or searching for places


Apple has officially confirmed that the issue affecting Maps Routing & Navigation and Maps Search. Via their System Status webpage.   Apple has confirmed that Apple Maps has been and continues to remain down for users worldwide. Users have been flooding Apple Support forums and the Apple Support Twitter account reporting that it is currently impossible to get directions, search for locations or points of interest. While map tiles appear to be continuing to loading normally.

Devices affected:

Apple Maps is having a worldwide outage, on all of Apple’s devices. Including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and CarPlay. Leaving users of CarPlay with no options for getting directions to another location. As the update in iOS 12 that allows third-party navigation, isn’t available until September.

About the issue:

Users have been reporting that when searching for locations – such as Apple Park – will show a loading indicator for approximately 30 seconds, before timing out and showing ‘No Results Found’ error. Apple is probably frantically working on its servers as we speak, meaning that the issue should be fixed in the coming hours.Apple has acknowledged this on-going issue on its System Status webpage.
