What’s New in Beta 5:

We’re still digging through the new beta – like a dog digging for a bone – so check back later for all the changes, additions, fixes and tweaks we find.

Summary of New Features:

MacOS 10.14. Mojave brings some neat new features which will help improve your workflow, boost productivity and keep everything tidy. The update following on from macOS 10.13 High Sierra brings a dark mode which is applied system-wide for consistency; this could be a hint at what could be coming in iOS 13 next year. Apple also introduced Stacks which rounds up all of your files – scattered across your desktop – and brings them under control, in a few piles on the side of your desktop. Also added are three new desktop wallpapers which use Apple’s new Dynamic Desktop feature. New Quick actions and Gallery view in Finder. Alongside, new continuity camera,  screen recording and screenshot features. Apple News, Voice Memos, Home and Stocks apps. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Summary of Beta Changes:

  • Mac App Store can be resized to a smaller view.
  • Apple Maps now uses a more proper dark mode.
  • New Solar Gradient dynamic wallpaper has been added.
  • Removed ‘Mess Up’ option (for Stacks) by ‘second clicking’ on the desktop.
  • Improvements to make the Apple News, Voice Memos, Home app and Stocks app more native to the Mac (instead of the iOS ‘Port-over version’.
