dual-SIM support could be coming to future iPhone models

Following the release of iOS 12 beta 5 yesterday; 9to5mac have found evidence that dual-SIM support could be coming to future iPhone models later this year. The system component that generates diagnostic reports now references “second SIM tray status” and “second SIM status”. While another component refers to a “dual sim device”. Those references clearly mean that iOS is being prepared for dual-SIM device support potentially coming in the future.

If Apple was to make a dual-SIM card option for the larger iPhone model it would allow for users to switch between different carrier plans. With the usage of dual-SIM devices being popular in; Nigeria, Brazil and Egypt and less common in; America, Canada and Australia. According to Device Atlas with data gathered in 2017.
