Icon found in iOS 12 hints at thin bezzled iPad

Guilherme Rambo has discovered a new icon in the latest beta of iOS 12 that hints at a thin bezzled iPad. Most importantly, with no notch. Following on from the rumors which suggested the new model would have Face ID and no home button.

The new asset appears to confirm that Apple has a new iPad in the works – most likely an iPad Pro – with the icon being part of the battery usage user interface. Apple has been clamping down on leaks but clearly, this one slipped through the net even by Apple’s standards. Last year it was the HomePod hinting at future product releases when the software confirmed an iPhone, again, with thin bezels would be launching.

The name of the icon specifies “iPad” with no system references as of yet. Guilherme also discovered more evidence that Apple is preparing Face ID to support both the landscape and verticle orientation.
