This morning, Apple held their October 2018 event in Brooklyn, New York. The event was also live-streamed on their website and Apple Events Apple TV app.
Instead of Tim Cook giving a big speech about the latest news of the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xr or Apple Watch Series 4 reviews and customer satisfaction, he instead just went right to work on the topic of today’s event, which was all about the iPad Pro and the Mac.
Apple began with talking about the Mac and with that came the new 13-inch MacBook Air. This new MacBook Air is the first of its kind to have a Retina Display. Following the other newer MacBooks on the market, it will only have two USB-C ports and a headphone port. It will also have a Touch ID sensor on the side for unlocking and making Apple Pay purchases. The starting price for the new MacBook Air is $1199.

Next up was the Mac Mini, which has not seen an update since 2014. This new Mac Mini comes in Space Gray and can have up to 64GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage. It’s starting price is $799.

Lastly, came the new set of iPad Pros. For the first time in its history, the iPad Pro does not have a Touch ID fingerprint scanner or home button. What is more impressive is that it does take the likes of the newer iPhones and uses Face ID, but where it stands out is the fact that it does not have a notch, which is something you have seen on the newer iPhones since the iPhone was released last year.
The new iPad Pro can have up to 1 TB of storage on it. Another item that Apple unveiled with the new iPad Pros is the Apple Pencil 2. Since the new iPad Pros have a magnetic connector on the right side, you can connect that Apple Pencil 2 directly to the iPad. By doing this, the Apple Pencil 2 will be able to charge, as well.

However, the biggest change to the iPad Pro, other than the fact that the body of it is slimmer and slightly different look to it, the newest versions of the iPad Pro charge with USB-C. That’s right, Apple has begun abandoning the Lightning port that has been used on iOS devices since 2012.
The 11-inch iPad Pro comes in 64GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB memory capacities. The starting price of the device is $799. Apple’s 12.9-inch iPad Pro has the same memory capacity as the new 11-inch model, but starts out at $999.

Their older 10.5-inch model will still be available to purchase in its regular memory capacities and can be purchased for $650.
Apple additionally unveiled a new folio smart keyboard to go along with the new iPad Pros. The keyboard looks and acts very similar to the keyboards you would find on newer MacBooks. As for the price, the new Smart Keyboard Folio will cost $179 for the 11-inch version and $199 for the 12.9-inch version.
They will also still be selling their Smart Keyboard for the 10.5-inch iPad Pro for $159, along with the older 12.9-inch iPad Pro for $169.
All of the products listed here can be pre-ordered as of today and that they will all be released on November 7, 2018. This also means that they will be available at Apple retail stores and Best Buy retail stores, as well.
