How to Stream Christmas Music This Holiday Season

Avatar for David Becker

Starting today, some radio stations across the country are flipping the switch to Christmas music now that Halloween is officially over.

If you are the kind of person that prefers to listen to your own Christmas music or listen to the playlists that the streaming services provide, I would suggest Apple Music and Spotify. Not only can you make your own playlists and listen to others, but Apple Music and Spotify do have different kinds of Christmas music playlists to choose from. It doesn’t matter if you like the old music, newer music or prefer a mix of both, Apple Music and Spotify will have you covered.

Other music streaming services such as Pandora Radio will also do the trick too since they do allow users to create holiday radio stations based off a Christmas album or song. Deezer and Tidal will be other spots for streaming Christmas music too.

For those who are looking to listen to Christmas music on the radio and not from a specific streaming service, you will still be in luck. SiriusXM will be having a Hallmark Channel Radio that will be playing Christmas music starting today until December 30th! On top of that, SiriusXM will additionally have 15 other stations playing Christmas and holiday music as well, one of which will be a Hanakuah station.

SiriusXM is not free and does have a subscription fee tossed with it. They have packages starting at $10.99 a month and going as high as $20.99 a month. There is a middle tier of $15.99 a month too. The only differences between those are the number of channels that you get and some features. However, they do offer free trials for their service too.

I should also say that SiriusXM can be used from your iPhone, iPad, Mac and also in select cars via Apple’s CarPlay dashboard system.

As for regular FM users, iHeartRadio is going to be one of the biggest and best spots to listen to your Christmas music outside of the car. They offer apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Other than that, be sure to check and see which radio stations are playing Christmas music and when they are doing so.

If the Christmas radio station you like is not available on iHeartRadio, be sure to look into the TuneIn, as well.

My personal Christmas album recommendation will be David Archuleta’s new Winter in the Air album that comes out tomorrow (or midnight ET for Apple Music users). The album will feature both new and traditional Christmas songs. The album’s first song “Christmas Every Day” is available to stream on Apple Music and Spotify, with the album coming out on November 2, 2018.

Enjoy the Christmas music while you can because this is the only time of the year where you can listen to it!
