After the dinner Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, and President Donald Trump, many people have speculated about what was discussed in this meeting, but now, President Trump has told to the press that Mr. Cook and he talked about the impact of U.S. tariffs on the products that Apple imports from China.

President Trump said Apple’s CEO “made a good case” about how the tariffs could potentially harm the profit the company makes and how this puts them in a disadvantage against their South Korean rival Samsung. President Trump said this to Reuters about what he discussed with Mr. Cook

“I thought he made a very compelling argument, so I’m thinking about it,”

This may make the tariffs go down in a significant part, but it is unclear if they will ever go down for all companies or just for Apple. The American Government is planning to apply an additional 10 percent tariff beginning on September 1st on more than $300 billion of Chinese imports, but this was delayed to December 15th last week. The former date will still affect most Apple products like the Apple Watch and the AirPods, which are currently the most popular Apple products.
