Today, Spotify updated its iOS app that has now been updated for tvOS support. This means that the app is available on the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K.
Spotify’s app update says the following, in regards to being available on the tvOS Apple TV App Store:
“- Spotify now available on Apple TV: Download it via the tvOS App Store or enable “automatically install apps” in tvOS settings to install it.”
Previously, in order for users to play their music from Spotify account to the Apple TV, they had to use AirPlay on their iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Mac in order to get their music available on the big screen.
With the addition of being available on the Apple TV now, the music streaming service is now available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, Apple Watch, Mac and now the Apple TV.
Spotify is a free app in the tvOS App Store and costs $4.99 a month for the Spotify Premium for Students plan (includes Hulu and Showtime too), $9.99 a month for your average user and $14.99 a month for the Family plan. There is a free version of Spotify that is ad-supported too. All of those Spotify Premium plans do come with a three-month free trial of the service.
By joining Spotify Premium, you will get access to an ad-free experience of Spotify, be able to make your music available offline, play as many songs as you want at your fingertips and get unlimited skips too for your playlists or radio stations.
