One country that has not been able to take part in the advantages and experiences of Apple Pay is Mexico.
At this time, Apple has never announced whether or not Mexico will be getting support soon, but a tweet from Twitter shows that a bank called BanRegio is currently supporting Apple Pay.
Tweet from the user says the following in English:
“I confirm that you accept #ApplePay with card #BanRegio. Only the region has to be from the USA. In the call center they confirm that it can be used in MX.”
Images from the tweet show that the debit card is indeed working in the Apple Wallet app.
At this time, it has not been confirmed whether or not any other banks in Mexico have gotten support for Apple Pay, so for now, it looks like the launch of Apple Pay in Mexico could be restricted.
Apple Pay is currently available to use in the United States and can be used on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and the newer MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. You can see here on Apple’s website exactly which countries have support for Apple Pay.
