The rumored March 31st event will most likely not happen in March due to the fact that Santa Clara County, in which Cupertino is located has issued a mandatory order which restricts gatherings of 1000 people or more. Apple obviously cannot have this event in their own Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park as of now. This ban starts from March 11th, 2020 and ends after three weeks. Apple will most likely postpone this event to a later date and have it on their Apple Park, as planned. According to sources of the Cult of Mac, Apple executives worry about the ‘social distancing’ in a confined area with people sitting beside each other. According to Cult of Mac’s sources, Apple has created a preliminary schedule that has all the elements which involve releasing new products. The source also added that not everything is written and could change from “one day to the next”.

This event is rumored to bring a number of new devices to the market which includes the iPad Pro (2020), the iPhone 9, AirTag, and a new generation of Apple TV.

The main reason for the delay in the event is due to the ban on the gathering of more than 1000 people in the Santa Clara County region. The second factor for the delay in the event is the “delays in producing two of the primary products” according to Cult of Mac’s Source.
