Monday, Bloomberg stated that 5G iPhones will be released on typical annual event in September, but the other products planned might be delayed.
There is no doubt that the 5G iPhones are not important, as they represent a milestone in the Apple’s history, so they do not plan on delaying it.
“Signs are that Apple’s Chinese-centric manufacturing — of which Hon Hai is the linchpin — is slowly getting back on track. The next iPhones with 5G wireless capabilities remain on schedule to launch in the fall, partly because mass production isn’t slated to begin until the summer, people familiar with matter have said.” -Â Bloomberg states.
The Bloomberg’s report aligns with another one, posted earlier this month, that states that the 5G iPhone’s launch dates will not delayed, because their production will begin in May, with hopes that the situation will get back to normal and restrictions will disappear.
As the China’s situation on the pandemic seems to get better and better, the restrictions remain in place, so the Foxconn (Hon Hai), among the other factories from China are forced to delay they reopening of the main iPhone-assembly plants.
It is believed that Apple is going to release four models of iPhone 12 in the fall, one 5.4-inch model, two 6.1-inch models, and one 6.7-inch model and all the devices will include OLED display and 5G support, as their design might suffer a change, including a flat edged metal frame like the iPad Pro. According to a prediction made by the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the massive design changes that the new iPhones will suffer consists in the removal of the Lightning connector to offer a “completely wireless experiences”.
