Hotstar is a popular video content app in India. Since Walt Disney bought 21st Century Fox for $71 billion, Hotstar, Tata Sky, Star India and Endemol Shine Group have been acquired by Walt Disney.
The Disney+ Hotstar subscription includes movies like The Lion King, Frozen II, Aladdin, Avengers Endgame and many more.
The Disney+ Hotstar VIP subscription will cost ₹399 (roughly $5) a year which will include Disney+ shows & movies (dubbed), Exclusive Hotstar Specials, Serials, movies and sports.
The Disney+ Hotstar Premium plan will include all of Disney’s content, Disney Originals, American TV Shows & Movies and Hotstar VIP. This plan will cost ₹299 (roughly $4) every month, or you can also opt in for a one year plan costing ₹1499 (roughly $20). If you choose to pay a yearly subscription, then you save out on ₹2089(roughly $27) because if you pay monthly for a year (₹299×12), you will end up spending ₹3588(roughly $47). The yearly plan seems like a better option as it saves you ₹2089. Payments for the annual plans (₹399-VIP and ₹1499-Premium) can be made through any Visa or MasterCard Credit or Debit card, Paytm, NetBanking, or UPI while the payment for the monthly plan of Rs. 299(Premium) can be made through any Visa or MasterCard Credit Card or through Debit Cards issued by ICICI Bank, Canara Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank

The video quality of the free version is 480p while the video quality of the VIP Plan is 720p HD. The video quality of the Premium Plan is 1080p Full HD. The premium plan also provides an ad-free experience and you can use two screens at the same time.
Some of Disney’s content is also available on the Jio Cinema app, which can be watched for free, but one must have a Jio Connection to avail of this which is only available in India.
Disney+ will be a competitor among the other popular movies and series streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Zee5 and SonyLIV. Disney+ is a great option for kids as there are many movies available on Disney+ like The Lion King, Frozen II and Toy Story.
