In May 2020, we reported that the Mexican restaurant Chipotle had notified customers that it was going to be accepting Apple Pay and contactless payment methods soon.

As of this week, that is now the case.

At Chipotle restaurants, one should be able to find a sign on top of the card reader, showing that it accepts Apple Pay, as well as Google Pay, Samsung Pay and other NFC-based payment services.

The restaurant had already been accepting Apple Pay in its mobile app for some time before it brought support to its restaurants.

When Apple Card users make purchases at Chipotle, whether it is through its restaurant or app, they will get 2% in Daily Cash for each purchase they make there.

Are you going to start using Apple Pay at Chipotle restaurants now or do you prefer using it in the company’s mobile app? Let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
