Ever since 2020 became 2020, tech news have been chaotic. From Apple Events getting rescheduled, to crazy new features in this year’s phones. But for a while, there has been a rumored version of AirPods that will replace the standard 2nd Generation version.
Now, with the leaks made by twitter user @duanrui1205 and Chinese website 52Audio, we can see what appears to be a new AirPods design, rumored to be a new entry-level model with the AirPods Pro design.
Thanks to the leaks, we can have a closer look to this new design. It appears that the shorter stem and bigger eartips from the Pro will translate to the entry model. Also, with the shorter stem, it is most likely that they will have pressure-sensitive sensors, instead of using the double-tap feature from the 1st & 2nd Generation.
With a new design comes a new case, and according to a X-Ray image from the Pro cases and the “Gen 3” cases, the design language seems to translate in a really neat way, making the case even more compact than it was.
Besides just being a new design, we could see some MagSafe and U1 implementation in this new AirPods Model, which seem to be two of Apple’s most exciting software and hardware approaches to accessories.
There have been other stills of the new AirPods model running around the web, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
