Apple today has stopped signing iOS 14.1, iPadOS 14.1, and iOS 12.4.8, which means that users cannot downgrade to those versions. This comes after the release of iOS 14.2, iPadOS 14,2, and iOS 12.4.9.

iOS 14.1 and iPadOS 14.1 brought support for the new HomePod Mini and its features, along with minor enhancements to the Home app, and bug fixes.

iOS 12.4.9 brought bug fixes to older iPhones and iPads that are running iOS 12.

Apple regularly stops signing older updates so users can’t downgrade back to an earlier iOS or iPadOS update and so users can keep their iPhone secure with the latest iOS / iPadOS update available.
