On Tuesday, Beats officially debuted a new variant of its popular Powerbeats headphones in collaboration with lifestyle brand AMBUSH. These new headphones mark the first collaboration between the two brands, as well as Beats first glow-in-the-dark headphones.

Influenced by the glowing neon cityscape of Shibuya, Japan, the new Beats / AMBUSH collaboration are a limited run of glow-in-the-dark headphones that, according to AMBUSH creative director Yoon Ahn, “help pay homage to Shibuya.” The collaboration is also Beats By Dre’s first glow-in-the-dark headphone offering.

Yoon Ahn, the Korean-American fashion designer, and co-founder and creative director of AMBUSH, says that the collaboration was born out of her love for the city of Shibuya and music: “When I walk around Shibuya, I always listen to music, so I was like, it would be cool if what I’m listening to also glowed and became part of the environment.”

This special edition Powerbeats model is finished in a pale-green colorway, a red “B” Beats by Dre logo, and features “AMBUSH” text on top of the headphones.

The Powerbeats / AMBUSH are powered by an Apple H1 chip, allowing for “Hey Siri” support, as well as seamless handoff between iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur devices.

Customers can order the Powerbeats / AMBUSH headphones starting tomorrow, November 18th, on Apple’s website for $199 USD.
