The popular social media video service seems to be testing out a new feature within iOS 14.
First discovered by Appleosophy’s Brahm Shank, it looks like TikTok is trying to integrate iOS 14’s App Clips feature into its own app.
Looks like @tiktok_us is testing out App Clips. Notice the icon under @iBeckTech ‘s message. However, when I tap on it I get a message saying the App Clip is unavailable. @appleosophy pic.twitter.com/tUkTbmMRem

Apple defines App Clips as, “a small part of an app that lets you do a task quickly, without downloading and installing the full app. You can discover App Clips in Safari, Maps, and Messages, or in the real world when you rent a bike, pay for parking, order food, and more.”
So how could App Clips help you gain TikTok followers? Well, imagine you’re scrolling through your feed and you see a cool new challenge or dance. With App Clips, you could tap on a link and instantly start recording your own version of the challenge, without having to download the TikTok app first. This could make it much easier for people to try out TikTok and see what it’s all about, which could lead to more people signing up and following you.
So far, we have only seen App Clips be advertised at ExxonMobil gas stations.
It is good to see more apps slowly adding support for the new feature or just showing signs of testing it out.
