LG has begun to roll out a software update for select 2018 LG Smart TVs which includes support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit.
AirPlay 2 enables users to stream videos, music, podcasts, and mirror the displays of their devices from an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch, without the need of an Apple TV.
HomeKit enables the ability to control the TV’s volume, source, power and more through the Home app and Siri.
Earlier LG initially said AirPlay 2 and HomeKit would only be available to 2019 or newer models since a seamless experience could not be guaranteed.
