Due to a slight break for Appleosophy writers and staff members, and other events going on, we did not have a Streaming Picks article last week.
To make up for that, here is one for this weekend and into next week.
TV:
- “Last Man Standing” (Season 9): The first two episodes of the ninth season of “Last Man Standing” have aired on FOX and are available to stream on Hulu and the FOX NOW app. If you’re a fan of “Home Improvement,” you’ll like that second episode.
- “Cobra Kai” (Season 3): It’s already become one of the most popular shows so far of 2021 and it is available to stream on Netflix.
- “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” (Season 2): Season two, episode one of this TV series can now be streamed on Hulu and Peacock.
Movies:
- “17 Again”: It’s a classic Zac Efron movie and is currently available to stream on Netflix.
- “The Princess Bride”: This movie from the late-1980s can be streamed on Hulu now.
- “Status Update”: For those who were fans of they Disney Channel TV series “Austin and Ally, Austin Lynch is the star of this film, which can be streamed on Hulu and Prime Video.
Sports:
- NFL Wild Card playoff games: This weekend, there is set to be two triple-header NFL games on both Saturday and Sunday. The first set of games start at 1:05 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 9, on CBS. The set of playoff games will be broadcasted on CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN and ABC, with simulcasts of select games on Saturday and Sunday on Freeform and Nickelodeon.
- NCAA Football National Championship: #3 Ohio State will have quite the battle against itself when the team plays #1 Alabama in the final game of the college football season. The game will be on at 8 p.m. ET, Monday, January 11, on ESPN.
- Los Angeles Lakers vs. Houston Rockets (NBA): This is the first NBA game we have recommended in 2021. It will be played at 8 p.m. ET, Tuesday, January 12, on NBA TV.
