Home appliances company Ecobee has dropped the price of the Smart Security Camera and upgraded the product with new features.

Ecobee’s HomeKit-supported Smart Camera has been cut in price from $179 to $129, the company will introduce new features to the camera. The company will release V2 of their autofocus system SmartFocus which gives smoother and much more improved tracking and zooming of multiple people.

Other new features includes support for Spotify Connect, adding the ability to listen to music through the Security Camera, and a new feature for the Haven service, which will detect monoxide and smoke, alerting the home and family members in the Ecobee app.

This is Ecobee’s first major update to its Ecobee Smart Camera since December, with more improvements and price reduction. The camera is also very important to the Ecobee ecosystem of smart appliances as it powers the Haven service.

You can order Ecobee’s Smart Camera on Amazon, Haven service is $5/month or $10/month for unlimited cameras, both tiers have a 30 day trial.
