It has been revealed that along with changes coming to Apple Card this fall in iOS 15, there is set to be another major one coming to Apple Pay.
One of the issues Apple Pay has had since it was released in 2014 is it does not have support for coupon or promo codes when making purchases online through websites and apps.
This issue alone has prompted some companies to make sure that customers can apply those coupons in their purchases before they hit that Apple Pay button, making sure that the coupon code price is reflected in the total when using Apple Pay as a payment method.
It has now been discovered in iOS 15 that users will be able to type in coupon codes in the Apple Pay payment screen.
This is how Apple explains the changes with Apple Pay in iOS 15:
“A redesigned Apple Pay payment sheet lets you add new cards inline, without ever leaving the Apple Pay experience. You can now enter coupon codes into the payment sheet, helping you save more whenever you use Apple Pay. And the enhanced summary view lets you see more detailed information, such as payment items, discounts, and subtotals, giving you the confidence to shop with Apple Pay.”
Apple Pay is available to use in stores through the iPhone and Apple Watch, and online via apps and websites on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac.
