1 killed, 17 injured after vehicle crashes into Apple Store in Hingham, Massachusetts

An SUV crashed through the front window of an Apple store Monday in Massachusetts, killing one person and injuring 16 others, authorities said. The motive of the crash is still undetermined and is being investigated by local and state police. Information on the driver has also not been released by law enforcement.

“This morning was an unthinkable morning, and people are trying to get through it and process what happened,” Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz said at a news conference.

Apple has closed the store indefinitely and issued the following statement:

“We are devastated by the shocking events at Apple Derby Street today and the tragic loss of a professional who was onsite supporting recent construction at the store. Our hearts go out to our team members and customers who were injured and all of those who were affected by this terrible incident. We are doing everything we can to support our team members and customers at this very difficult time”

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
