Apple’s baseline iPhone is said to be getting an upgrade by 2025, according to analyst Jeff Pu and MacRumors.

The rumor says that Apple will be making its own custom 5G modem for the next version of the iPhone SE. Pu said Apple will be using TSMC, its chip-making partner, for this new modem.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has previously stated that the fourth generation of the iPhone SE would be released in the first half of 2024, and that the iPhone would have a 6.1-inch OLED screen with said Apple-designed 5G modem.

Apple’s latest iPhone SE was released in March 2022 and has a 4.7-inch screen and the ability to connect to 5G, and still has Touch ID on it. It has a starting price of $429.
