Twitter users indicate Kroger stores have begun accepting Apple Pay

Kroger has supposedly made a big move and change to its grocery stores.

Twitter users have indicated that Kroger has flipped the switch at some of its stores and has begun to accept Apple Pay.

Select Kroger-owned stores King Soopers and Ralph’s began accepting Apple Pay in November 2022. In 2020, Quality Food Centers (QFC) stores began accepting Apple Pay as well.

It should also be said that Kroger acquired Albertsons late last year and that grocery store chain had already been accepting Apple Pay at the time of Kroger’s acquisition. However, that acquisition has yet to be officially approved.

Needless to say, it has been a slow and gradual process for bringing Apple Pay to Kroger stores.

Here are the tweets from said Twitter users:

While these are simple tweets and nothing more, Kroger stores have been a big complaint over the years for not accepting Apple Pay, so the fact that users are talking about it being added at stores is something worth noting.

With Kroger accepting Apple Pay, it would also mean Apple Card users that pay from their iPhone or Apple Watch would get 2% in Daily Cash on each purchase they make.

If Kroger is to be accepting Apple Pay now, you may not see it yet at your particular store. Like with a lot of Apple Pay and overall contactless acceptance, it could take several weeks for all Kroger stores to begin accepting it.
