It has been reported by MacRumors that an LG spokesperson has stated that the first of the LG TVs going into hotels with AirPlay support is said to be happening “this spring.”
While that does somewhat narrow it down, the introduction of these LG TVs in hotel rooms might not be available to customers in hotel rooms until at least mid-June this year.
LG will be the first TV manufacturer to make the AirPlay feature available to both new and older TV models the company has released over the years.
Apple had originally announced this type of feature with hotels when it debuted iOS 17 at WWDC 2023. This was said to be with the IHG Hotels & Resorts, along with the hotels that it owns such as Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Kimpton, InterContinental, Candlewood Suites, Staybridge Suites, Hotel Indigo, Avid, and more.
Once the user has connected a device like an iPhone or iPad to the AirPlay supported hotel TV, they will be able to put their content from streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, and others on to their hotel TV instead of having to be reliant on the hotel’s cable or satellite TV package.
