Select MLB playoff games to be available to stream in 4K for Apple TV 4K users this weekend

The fall sports season really is going right now and on top of the college football games that can be streamed this weekend in 4K on the Apple TV 4K, there will be at least a couple of MLB playoff games that will have 4K streaming options too.

For the record, these listed games are going to be on FOX Sports. Some games are broadcast on TBS and streaming live on MAX, but those games are only broadcast in 1080p HD.

With that said, the two games this weekend that will be available to stream in 4K will be these:

  • Mets vs. Phillies – 4 p.m. ET, Saturday, October 5 on FOX
  • Padres vs. Dodgers – 8:30 p.m. ET, Saturday, October 5 on FS1
  • Mets vs. Phillies – 4 p.m. ET, Sunday, October 6 on FS1
  • Padres vs. Dodgers – 8 p.m. ET, Sunday, October 6 on FS1

When it comes to actually streaming those FOX Sports games live, fans will have to be subscribed to a live TV streaming service such as YouTube TV, FuboTV, DirecTV Stream, or Sling TV (Sling Blue or Sling Orange + Blue plans only, FOX only available in select TV markets on Sling TV) which all will have a FOX 4K channel. Those that have YouTube TV will also need to have the 4K Plus add-on for an additional $9.99 a month.

Another way to stream the FOX Sports games in 4K, when available, whether it is on FOX or FS1, is through the FOX Sports app. Those that use that route will have to sign in with valid TV provider credentials in order to stream the games live and in 4K from that app.

According to a report from TVAnswerman.com, these games will be in “upscaled 4K.”
