Apple is bringing its most historic Japanese store back to where it all began. The all-new Apple Ginza reopens on Friday, September 26 at 10 a.m. JST, returning to its original location with a modern, four-story space built to showcase.
Apple Ginza was the company’s first retail store outside the U.S. when it opened in 2003. More than two decades later, Apple says the reimagined store is a milestone for its ties with customers and communities across Japan.
To celebrate, Apple Ginza launches a Today at Apple Spotlight session with Japanese supergroup Number_i, exploring Spatial Audio and spatial video using their single “U.M.A.” The session debuts exclusively at Ginza before rolling out across Japan on October 11.
Visitors can also get their hands on the Apple Vision Pro by booking one-on-one demos and having an immersive experience as they watch a behind-the-scenes look at the “U.M.A.” music video in the Spatial Gallery app. A special-edition Apple Gift Card will be available at Ginza for a limited time to mark opening week.
Apple says the store runs on 100% renewable energy and features a double-skin glass façade with adaptive louvers to manage light and temperature throughout the day. Inside, regionally sourced materials, warm wood paneling that nods to Japanese design, balcony-like overlooks, and varied table and seating heights aim to make the space comfortable and inclusive.
