If you’ve been waiting to buy a new Apple TV or HomePod mini, you might want to wait a little longer before making your decision. According to Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, inventory for both products is getting tighter. The report suggests these potential new models aren’t just minor tweaks. They are expected to be updated with new chips and Apple’s own in-house wireless components.
There’s also a bigger picture here. With Apple planning a major push for its new Siri and Apple Intelligence features next year, they’ll need great hardware to show them off. Updated Apple TV and HomePod mini devices would be the perfect stage for these powerful new AI capabilities in the home. Gurman notes that even if these refreshed models don’t land before the end of the year, they shouldn’t be far off.
Separately, Apple retail stores are preparing for an “overnight” on the evening of November 11th. This is when employees stay late to refresh store displays. While this can signal new product launches, Gurman believes this particular event is more likely just to set up the stores for the busy holiday shopping season.
So, while the November 11th store refresh might just be seasonal prep, the low inventory is the real clue. The signs are pointing to new home hardware from Apple sooner rather than later.
