Apple has officially launched “Tap to Pay on iPhone” in Singapore, streamlining the way merchants accept payments. This new feature allows businesses of any size to use their iPhone as a secure contactless payment terminal, eliminating the need for dongles or separate card readers.
The magic of Tap to Pay lies in its simplicity and accessibility. Merchants can now accept Apple Pay, other digital wallets, and contactless credit and debit cards simply by asking the customer to tap their card or device against the merchant’s iPhone. To get started, merchants need a supported iOS app from a participating payment platform and an iPhone XS or later running the latest version of iOS. It supports major payment networks, including American Express, Mastercard, and Visa, ensuring that most customers can pay with their preferred method without hassle.
Apple has partnered with leading payment platforms to ensure a wide rollout from day one. At launch, platforms such as Adyen, Fiuu, HitPay, Revolut, Stripe, and Zoho are already supporting the feature.
