iOS 27 Beta 2 comes with a new ‘Write with Siri’ option in the keyboard

iOS 27

Apple started rolling out the second betas of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 to developers earlier today. These updates come two weeks after the release of the first beta software for these versions. The updates include improvements to Liquid Glass, a new Siri AI, new Screen Time options, and more, announced at WWDC held earlier this month. The first beta included a series of changes, and the second beta includes further refinements and new features.

With iOS 27 beta 2, Apple has added the ‘Write with Siri’ feature to the keyboard, which is essentially a newer version of the Writing Tools that launched with Apple Intelligence on iOS 18.1.

While Writing Tools on iOS 18 and iOS 26 gave users options to rewrite the text in a concise, professional, or friendly way, including options to make a summary, key points, tables, and lists, the new “Write with Siri” or “Rewrite” options only allow users to provide a prompt to Siri on how to rewrite or create the text. This provides more ways for the text to be rewritten, but also affects users who frequently relied on those options as quick shortcuts.

The Write with Siri option appears on the keyboard when you are about to begin writing something, and continues to remain as an icon on the left along with the other word suggestions while you are typing.

This is just the second beta, so there is a chance of Apple bringing back the previous Apple Intelligence shortcuts to iOS 27.

Users who are registered as a developer on www.developer.apple.com can opt in to receive beta updates by going into Settings>General>Software Update>Beta Updates and selecting Developer Beta.

Do note that these versions are not stable and are meant for testing purposes. They are not recommended to be downloaded on a primary device due to the nature of beta software.
