Apple brings back 256GB Mac mini, keeps starting price at $799

Towards the end of April 2026, Apple discontinued the 256GB storage variant for the base M4 Mac Mini, which started at $599, which led to the Mac Mini to start at $799 with 512GB of Storage and 16GB of RAM.

However, with today’s price increases, Apple has brought back the 256GB option for the Mac Mini, but with the same price of $799, effectively making it a $200 price hike (33.3%). The 512GB variant which originally started at $799 now starts at $999.

Apple shared the following statement with Reuters today:

“We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly,” “We have shielded our customers from these increases so far, but we have now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices on a number of products, including today’s increases for iPad and Mac.”

Prices of all Mac models have been raised today, and Amazon is currently offering various deals for you to lock in at a price even lower than Apple’s previous pricing. Check the deals out here.
