Apple launches a free service program for the iPad Air (3rd generation) having issues with its display. The display of a limited number of devices might flicker or flash at first, and go permanently blank under certain circumstances.
Apple says that iPad Air 3rd Generation devices which were manufactured between March 2019 and October 2019, which have this issue, will be serviced for free by Apple or by Apple’s Authorized Service Provider. Apple mentions that it restricts or limits the repair to its original region of the product purchase.
This free service program will cover devices till 2 years of its retail purchase date.
Note: This does not extend the warranty of the product.
According to the Program website-
” Apple has determined that, under certain circumstances, the screen on a limited number of iPad Air (3rd generation) devices may go blank permanently. A brief flicker or flash may appear before the screen goes blank.
Affected devices were manufactured between March 2019 and October 2019. Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will service eligible devices, free of charge.
Note: No other iPad models are part of this program. ”
