Apple likes to be first to new tech, but now the company is first when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic.

The company sent a memo to employees at its retail stores, telling them that it will once again be requiring face masks for employees in the stores and customers, despite what their vaccination status is, according to Bloomberg.

This comes just right after the Centers for Disease Control stated that those with and without the COVID-19 vaccine should go back to wearing face masks when they are in places with high COVID-19 transmission.

Apple’s new policy starts today at more than half of its retail stores in the United States. Apple currently has 270 stores in the country.

Customers can still go to the stores when they would like to and shop there. The only difference now is that the stores will require those customers to be wearing a mask.

Other popular retailers like Target, Walmart and Best Buy have not said anything yet regarding whether or not they will go back to required face masks in the store for customers.
