Appleosophy Streaming Picks: September 2023

Fall is coming later this month and that means cooler weather and more time to stay inside and stream something good.

TV:

  • “Suits”: Thanks to recent TikTok trends, this series getting another surge of popularity and could be great for a rewatch or viewing for the first time. The show can be streamed on both Peacock and Netflix.

 

  • Pokémon: To be a Pokémon Master: Ultimate Journeys”: The Series (Part 1)”: This will be part of the final stories of the great Ash Ketchum. It will be available to stream on Netflix on Friday, September 8.

 

  • Star Trek: Lower Decks” (Season 4): A new season of this animated series will release exclusively on Paramount+ on Thursday, September 7.

 

  • Spin City”: All six seasons of this old ABC TV series are now available to stream on Prime Video.

 

  • “Gilmore Girls”: In honor of the fall starting later this month, this series has been a big one when it comes to highlighting and emphasizing the fall season. All seven seasons of the show are available to stream on Netflix.

 

Movies:

  • Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts”: This month is “Back to Hogwarts” month, meaning it gives everyone the opportunity to stream the entire “Harry Potter” movie franchise, as well as the three “Fantastic Beasts” films. They can all be streamed on Max.

 

  • “The Intern”: Perhaps you just finished your summer internship or are starting one this fall (it’s 2023, anything is a possibility now). This is an excellent movie about internships and can currently be streamed on Hulu.

 

  • “Robots”: Nope, we’re not talking about the iconic animated movie from 2005 but a new indie film that came out this year that stars Shailene Woodley and Jack Whitehall that will be available to stream on Hulu on Friday, September 15.

 

  • Dead Poets Society”: With school getting back in session this month and the fall season coming later in the month, this classic Robin Williams movie is guaranteed to give you a good feeling, as well as shock and awe. It can currently be streamed with ads on Tubi.

 

  • “Field of Dreams”: We have no forgotten about the MLB season and since its regular season is coming to a close soon, we though it would be a good opportunity to stream this movie, whether you’re a baseball fan or simply looking for a family-friendly movie. It can currently be streamed on Netflix.

 

Sports:

  • #21 North Carolina vs. South Carolina (College Football): The Carolinas are going at it in this game and victory and bragging rights are on the line. The game will be played at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 2, on ABC.

 

  • Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh (College Football): While this may not be a game everyone will be watching, it certainly could make for a good matchup, and will be the debut of a brand new network covering college football and live sports as a whole. The game will be played at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, on The CW.

 

  • Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs (NFL): It’s one of the biggest nights of the month and that is the kickoff of the 2023 NFL regular season. This game will be played at 8:20 p.m. ET on Thursday, September 7, on NBC and streaming live on Peacock.

 

  • Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets (NFL): This game will be a big AFC East rivalry game, as well as the regular season debut for Aaron Rodgers on his new team, the New York Jets. The game will be played at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday, September 11, on ESPN, ABC, and streaming live on ESPN+.

 

  • New York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers (NFL): Both teams are looking to start the season off well which will hopefully lead to a playoff later in the season. This game will be played at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, exclusively on Prime Video.
