Shazam, the popular song-searching platform owned by Apple, has finally made its way into OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Now, users can ask “Which song is this?” right on the ChatGPT App. This is not the first Apple platform to be integrated into ChatGPT. In December of last year, Apple added Apple Music integration with ChatGPT, allowing it to perform tasks like creating a personalized playlist with the user’s favorite songs or new recommendations.
To enable the integration, ChatGPT users need to visit the “Apps” section on the web or on the phone and search “Shazam,”, following which the Shazam account needs to be connected.
To search for a song, users need to mention “@shazam” in their prompt to tag the app on ChatGPT, which will bring up Shazam’s interface. After Shazam fetches the result for you, the song can be added to your Apple Music Library, and you can also ask ChatGPT to find more songs like it to create a new personalized playlist using the Apple Music integration.
The integration is currently live globally on the iOS and Android apps as well as on the web.
