Apple Sports Expands to CarPlay with New Feature Additions

Apple Sports

Apple launched the Apple Sports app back in February of 2024 in the U.S., the U.K., and Canada with real-time sports statistics, scores, and more. The app was gradually rolled out to several more regions, including Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and many more.

Today, the app received a new update with two key new features. According to Apple’s release notes, version 3.10 of the Apple Sports app has the following changes:

• Get ready for World Cup 2026 — follow your favorite teams and explore the groups on Apple Sports before the tournament kicks off in June.

• Now F1 fans can see weather conditions for each Grand Prix. Check track temperature, wind speed, and more.

• Smaller widgets are now available for Apple Sports, so you can keep up with your favorite teams and leagues in more places, including CarPlay.

With support for widgets in iOS 26 and as mentioned in the release notes, Apple Sports users can now finally add the widget to CarPlay. To add the Apple Sports App Widget to CarPlay, users need to open Settings>General>CarPlay>Select the car model>Widgets>Add a Widget.
