Apple has long been a proponent for long-device support with the iOS Software Update game. iOS 12, released in 2018 supported devices going as far back as the iPhone 5s, which is six years old, released in 2013.

Apple is not set to break this trend in iOS 13. The Verifier reports that the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus and even iPhone SE will not be seeing the iOS 13 Software Update ”“ which is preposterous, even though the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE use Apple’s A9 processor and have 2GB of RAM, sufficient to run the latest Apps and Games, sufficient to run the latest version of iOS. This would leave Apple’s iPhone 7, iPhone 8, and iPhone X-styled devices as the only iPhones supporting this operating system update.

Apple is also set to cut the iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4, iPad Air and iPad Air 2, which is absurd and goes against their values for the environment and customers. Apple will also cut iPod touch (6th generation) support.

Apple is also set to save features as exclusives for the iPhone XS and XS Max, as well as the 2019 iPhone lineup, this could be the Dark Mode feature exclusive for the OLED Mode for iPhone X and newer, which is not acceptable but seems like an “Apple-move” to drive customer upgrades.

The Verifier has not provided any information as to where these “rumors” came from, but take them with a grain of salt.
