Apple Imposes April 11 Deadline For U.S. Employees Return-to-Work

Apple today announced a significant reorganization within its AI division following the retirement of AI chief John Giannandrea. AI researcher Amar Subramanya has been appointed as Vice President of AI, reporting to Craig Federighi. Subramanya will be responsible for key initiatives, including Apple Foundation Models, ML research, and AI Safety and Evaluation. The rest of Giannandrea’s organization will be split between Sabih Khan and Eddy Cue to better align those teams with similar existing groups.
