We’ve seen the release of the updated MacBook Pro at last week’s keynote, and many updates are lined up to iron out any issues with the all new Touch Bar. Many updates include a new Emoji library and Unicode 9 support. This is to become available with the public release of iOS 10.2, macOS 10.12.2 watchOS 3.2, and tvOS 10.2.

The first of many developer betas for macOS 10.12.2 have been recently seeded. For your convenience, here’s a list of main things you’ll want to know about what’s new in this new beta of macOS Sierra:

  • Added support for viewing and using over 100 new Emoji available in iOS 10.2.
  • Updated support for Unicode 9.

This update can be of large size, based on your device, and, as usual, is accessible to any device currently running macOS Sierra, Mac OS X Lion (10.7.5) and Higher, or if your model was announced late 2009. See http://www.apple.com/macos/how-to-upgrade/#hardware-requirements to see if your Mac qualifies for this update.

To check for new updates and install macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Developer beta 1, locate and click the Apple logo () in the top left corner of your screen > Software Update > Download & Install (inside App Store).

Note that this update is limited to developers and current members of the developer beta testing program. A valid, verified developer beta certificate is required to see and download this and all developer beta updates.

If prompted, enter your valid Apple ID and password to continue with the update, and enter your computer’s password (if applicable) to continue. Agree to the terms and conditions to complete the installation.
