Based on a few messages I received from the @AskTarget Twitter account Saturday night, it would appear as though Target, in fact, does have plans to implement Apple Pay into their stores. Currently, paying with Apple Pay can only be done when purchasing items through their mobile app.
According to the @AskTarget Twitter account, there is no exact timeframe for when stores will start accepting Apple Pay in-store. The company has been saying for a couple years that they hope to add it in-store soon, but one can only hope that it is sometime in 2017.
