The founder of Throwboy, Roberto Hoyos, released a video on YouTube today about Apple called “Apple Forgot Me.” Essentially, the song goes into detail about how he feels as though Apple has forgotten about their pro-machine users.
For those who are unaware, Throwboy is a company that sells pillows based on icons such as the Mac Finder icon, YouTube “Subscribe” button, and Tumblr’s “Reblog” button.”
Apple has been criticized by many about how their innovation has gone away with little changes every year to the iPhone and not much in the pro-Mac user department. Although Apple did release a new MacBook Pro last fall, critics have said that it doesn’t fit the pro-users due to the fact that it only has two USB-C ports and a headphone port. Users have to buy an additional dongle to have more common ports such as regular USB and an SD card slot.
In recent years, it seems like Tim Cook and Apple have spent more time worrying about iOS devices, specifically the iPhone and iPad, and diversity and inclusion within the company. These can be good problems to solve within a company, but only if they are still innovating just as they were when Steve Jobs was in charge.
