Apple Adds New MacBook Pro WITHOUT TouchBar to MacBook Line

Avatar for David Becker

Yesterday, the MacBook Pro without TouchBar received a spec upgrade and now offers a more affordable option at the cost of less storage.  Here’s exactly what Apple did.

In order to make the new MacBook Pro a little more affordable, the company added a new MacBook Pro without TouchBar that only has a 128GB SSD. Other than that, this laptop is the same as the 256GB SSD model which includes:

  • 2.3 GHz dual core intel Core i5 processor
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz
  • 128GB SSD storage
  • Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
  • Two Thunderbolt 3 USB-c ports

This new version of the MacBook Pro saw a $200 reduction in price and is available to order today at the starting price of $1,299.

Also remember that for students, Apple does have education pricing on their website, which would bring the price of this new MacBook Pro down to $1,249. Best Buy also has their own discounts for college students. Best Buy currently has a deal for college students that takes $100 off select MacBook models. Check with your local Best Buy to find out if this deal is offered with this new model.
