Sling TV for iOS Gets Cloud DVR Support

Avatar for David Becker

Sling TV, a live TV streaming service, now has cloud DVR support for iOS devices. However, there is a catch to this new feature for the Sling TV iOS app. This feature is only available as a $5 add-on to your current plan, and is not included with the starting $20 a month Sling Orange plan.

This feature has been added to an array of platforms such as the Apple TV, Roku, XBOX One, Windows 10, Android, and macOS.

Sling’s Cloud DVR gives users up to 50 hours of cloud storage. Older recordings are deleted automatically in place of new recordings freeing up space in your cloud DVR. If the  DVR feature is not used regularly,  DVR recordings are automatically deleted after 28 days.

According to The Verge, these are the channels that do not support DVR recording: ABC (available in select markets), Freeform, Disney Channel, Disney Jr, Disney XD, ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN 3, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Goal Line, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Bases Loaded, and SEC Network.
