iTunes gift cards are always a great present in my book. It allows the person receiving the gift to have the money to buy themselves something that they actually want, whereas the alternative is to get the person a gift they might want, but that could also end up in a return cart at your local department stores.
Personally, I have absolutely no objections to getting iTunes cards. Even though I do not buy music anymore thanks to Apple Music, I do still like to buy/rent movies from iTunes, along with buying TV show episodes. On top of all that, these gift cards are also really good for buying apps.
With all of that said, here is everything I would buy if I had a $100 iTunes gift card
- Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip ($24.99): I am a big fan of Aaron Sorkin’s writing style and other TV shows (Sports Night and The Newsroom) and this is the only one that I have not been able to watch yet. The bad part is that there’s only one season of this series.
- Postcards in the Sky by David Archuleta ($9.99): Archuleta is my favorite music artist and his new album comes out next Friday. Although I do not buy music because of my Apple Music subscription, I try to pitch in when it comes to David Archuleta’s music since I like to give credit where credit is due.
- Twitterrific for Mac ($19.99): Iconfactory’s new version of Twitterrific for Mac comes out tomorrow and even though I am a huge Tweetbot for Mac fan, I would love to try it out. Definitely worth blowing nearly $20 for.
- Spider-Man: Homecoming ($19.99): The movie is not available to rent yet, so in the case of this movie right here, I would have to purchase it. Still, I have heard good things about this film so I think it would be worth the money.
- Snowden (Rent: $3.99): I have always been a fan of tech movies and this one here is no exception. Best of all, I can actually rent this one!
- Beware the Gonzo ($9.99): This is a great indie film and I personally love that it deals with a high school newspaper since I am a writer, blogger, and journalism major in college. It used to be on Netflix, but like usual, Netflix aways takes off what I love (that’s right, I’m talking about you taking off Last Man Standing!).
- Like Sunday, Like Rain ($9.99): Once again, another great indie film. I have seen this movie before. I loved the story behind it and the main song in it gets stuck in your head. It’s also a great movie to watch on a Sunday afternoon!
Doing the math, this leaves us with a total of $99.93 spent. Like usual, in my experience, you always have a little left over. In this case, what’s left over is .07 cents, but let’s look on the bright side here.
