How to Stream the 2018 Indy 500

Avatar for David Becker

Today is one of the biggest days of the year for racing fans. No, this is not the Daytona 500, but the Indy 500. This is the 102nd running of the race, which is held in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This year, the race is being broadcasted on ABC, which is available over-the-air to viewers who do not have a traditional cable or satellite TV subscription.

With that said, if you have found this article, you are probably looking for a way to stream the race this year. Here is the way on how to do just that!

For starters, you’re going to want to look into the WatchESPN/ESPN app on the iOS and tvOS App Store. If you have a valid cable, satellite or live TV streaming service account, you will be able to use it to watch the race from there.

If you do not have access to the WatchESPN or ESPN apps, the only other way will be for using live TV streaming services like Sling TV, YouTube TV or Hulu with Live TV. The bad part about this is that if you are looking to use one of those to watch the race, local ABC stations are only available in certain areas.

This means that if you live in Los Angeles, California chances are pretty high that you’ll be able to watch the race. However, if you live in the middle-of-nowhere South Dakota, chances are pretty slim.

All of these services have apps available in the iOS and tvOS App Store for both on-the-go streaming (smartphone or tablet) or streaming on the big screen (Apple TV). These services are also available to use on the Mac via a web browser such as Safari, Google Chrome or Firefox.

We hope you are able to stream and watch the race today, and that you are happy with the outcome. Happy Indy 500 race day, fans!
